UMF Theater’s Spoon River Anthology Delivers a Night of Small-Town Storytelling

in New, Live Online Theatrical Event

UMF Theater is delighted to announce its Spring Mainstage Production, a new adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters’s groundbreaking poetry collection Spoon River Anthology, adapted by director Melissa C. Thompson and the ensemble. This evening of compelling storytelling will be delivered directly to your home via Zoom in this live, online theatrical event.

Set in a small town in rural Illinois, Spoon River Anthology takes place on The Hill, the town’s graveyard. On this night, the residents of this resting place have a moment to speak to the living once more. They speak of their triumphs, their tragedies, and their loves, sharing the lessons they learned in life. And as more of the townspeople share their stories, we see the intricate ways our lives are woven together when share the same small community, as well as the ripple effects our choices have on our neighbors’ lives.
