The short answer? I didn’t like it. Editing the videos took up too much of my time, and I have a lot of other things going on. I just couldn’t dedicate the time to do it. Filming is fun, don’t get me wrong; it’s just not for me, I think. Maybe I’ll try again at a different point in my life, but right now, I think I’ve got to take a step back. That’s partially why I haven’t posted anything (besides the second issue of Crow Name). I have to tell y’all, I made all those pieces of artwork for the writing from scratch, so it took forever (btw, if anyone would like to submit artwork to Crow Name, I would love that).
In another vein, I think I also prefer to write my thoughts down instead of saying them. I feel like I come across more coherently that way. But that’s just a personal thing.
I won’t get into the problems with YouTube or anything; that’s not really what this post is about – though I will not deny the major issues many creators face on the site. But for me, this is really just about taking a step back. We all need to take a breather sometimes, no?
I’m not really sure where to go beyond this; I have a lot of other projects currently going that you’ll hopefully hear more from, but YouTube just isn’t one of them. Actually, there are a few that I’m really excited about – like my own website, with my portfolio that I’ve been working on (www.meaganljones.com)! And we’ve got more things in store for Crow Name. Beyond that, I’m also working a full-time retail job, so we’re just going full blast. But anyway. I can’t wait to show you these other things we’re doing – you’ll see me so much you won’t miss me on YouTube!
